a deeper journey

Website: www.dianascarborough.com:
My assemblages are created using found materials and allude to emotion or human predicament. As sculptural objects they exude an obsessive quality, often dark but sometimes humorous or simply naive. Tension in the sculptures is purposefully accentuated by the juxtaposition of different materials.

Early this year I completed a 2D series called 'Feelings in Form' which combine pastels and acrylic on canvas to create sculptural forms. My ongoing work in journals using collages, text and watercolours is introspective and private but retains the emotional power and energy that is inherent in all my work.

I studied Fine Art at the Royal Academy of Art, Netherlands and graduated in 2006. My fascination with 3D form, primitive figures and materials acknowledge my engineering background and experiences of living and working in different countries.
